The Fandom Flakies box this month features Kathleen and Co with the theme of John Wick (who doesn't love Keanu Reeves?)

BKL's Excommunicado
a brick red polish with gold iridescent flakes and a scattering of holo flakes.

So packed with flake, ya'll! Shown is two coats with topcoat.






NOL's Noise Complaint
a glowy blue holographic with bright blue metallic micro flakies and red/gold UCC flakes.

Quite eye catching, in fact, I got a compliment on my nails while wearing it! Two coats with topcoat shown.






Kathleen and Co's Baba Yaga
a dark purple with purple/blue aurora shimmer, iridescent flakes and holo microflakies.

This purple polish is everything. Bright, sparkly, has that blue shift from the flakes. So in love! I wore two coats w/topcoat for these photos.





The formulas of each of these was very easy to work with, no clumping or dragging just smooth easy application. What do you think of this month's box?

Night Owl Lacquer: Wish Upon a Tulip

I had the opportunity to review Lindsey's COTM (Cream of the month) this month, and it's a beaut!

Wish Upon a Tulip
She describes this polish as a bright fuchsia leaning hot pink creme

I would say this is almost neon, if not neon. It's like right on the line to being a neon. It is definitely pink, almost like highlighter pink. It does not lean purple although many of the photos I have seen of it look purpley. I have color corrected mine as best I could because mine came out of the camera the same as all the others, purple leaning.

Painted with care, this could be a one coater. I am showing two coats which I do for smoothness and to ensure that there aren't any thin patches to show up under my bright lights. I saw another swatcher tried stamping with it, and it looked fantastic, so look for her photos and more over in the facebook fan group for Night Owl Lacquer.

Fandom Flakies: February 2019

This month I had the opportunity to review for the Fandom Flakies box! There are three beautiful polishes in this set. The sale goes live Friday 2/8 at noon est and ends 2/15 at 11:59pm est. There will be 3 polishes included in the box for $30.




Bluebird Lacquer's Cat Ass Trophy was inspired by the loveable sarcastic chonk, Salem! It’s a black jelly with a deep blue flakie shimmer and a smattering of multicolored flakies.

I like the way the vibrant flakes pop against the dark base!






BKL's Judge Witch-inspired by the episode with RuPaul where Sabrina must choose which Aunt to live with, this is a glowy purple with extra purple shimmer and a rainbow of iridescent flakes.

It's like blackberry juice with shimmer and flake! Loving this shade!






NOL's You're a Witch - This was inspired by the pilot episode and it is a bright blue with a green/blue/purple shift, silver flakes, 2 different shades of shifting crystal chameleon flakes and a dusting of holo micro flecks.

Very vibrant turquoise, packed with sparkle!





Each polish is shown in two coats with KBShimmer Clearly on Top topcoat. Formula for each was good, no issues to report.

Polish Pick Up: December

The December Polish Pick Up theme is Enchanted Forest and I have four polishes to share with you! The release is a pre-order and takes place Dec 7th at 10am central through Dec 10th.



Ethereal Spellfrost
a sheer periwinkle base with a prominent violet glowy shimmer, accompanied by an array of iridescent flakes.
Inspiration - a frozen pine forest under an enchanted sky

Shown is three coats with topcoat. The formula was great, I like how it appears to glow like a uv light. (not uv reactive)






Lollipop Posse Sass Those Boys Up Nasty
a soft green base accented with a sassy red/green multichrome shift and red/gold flakes
Inspiration - Tree Trunks, from Adventure Time
Cap TBD

Shown is 2 coats with topcoat. The formula was very nice and easy to control on the nail.





Night Owl Lacquer Shmebulock!
a taupe leaning grey crelly with charcoal flakes, taupe micro flakies, blue/green & red/copper/gold/green shifting crystal chameleon flakes.
Inspiration - The forest from the show Gravity Falls, specifically the adorable gnome Shmebulock.

I wore three coats for photos with topcoat. The formula was smooth, and I like that the brush shape allows good control of the polish.

a cool mint with scattered holo and magenta, purple, Cyan ucc flakes

Lindsay from Night Owl Lacquer has made a Holo-Maniacs FB Group Custom! If you haven't already, join the group so you can get this beauty.

Holo Love
a bright red holographic base with ruby metallic micro flakies and bright red, blue & gold holo micro shreds.

Although the official description describes quite a few red ingredients I found this to lean more rosy on me. Rose shades seem to be an unusual find, and this one is beautiful. I think it'll be great with any skin tone, the sparkle and holo rainbow are fabulous. Shown is two coats, formula was smooth and easy to apply. I love the wide flat brush, it really gives me more control over where the polish ends up.

a charcoal grey base (signifying equality, a mix of black and white) with strong blue shimmer (signifying freedom, defiance and strength) with blue to turquoise (signifying brother and sisterhood, humanism, justice and independence) shifting flake. I wore 2 coats for photos, formula was good no issues to report.

Great Lakes Lacquer A Caged Bird Sings
Inspired by a Maya Angelou poem
A dewy, dusty pale green turquoise to seafoam and vanilla, filled with holo microflake and a blue to fuschia to purple to gold shifting aurora shimmer. $1/bottle will go to benefit the Southern Poverty Law Center. I wore 3 coats for photos, formula was good no issues to report.

Inspired by Claire Fraser from the book and clothing from the show, Outlander.
a multichrome polish that shifts green, blue and deep indigo with a touch of micro holo flake to add sparkle and shine. I wore 2 coats for photos, formula was good and it stamps!

Lollipop Posse My Heart is Like the Ocean
Inspired by Tori Amos, and her song "Take to the Sky"
a teal creme base with pink Aurora shimmer, pink/green multichrome shimmer, and linear holo pigment. $1 from every bottle sold of 'My Heart is Like the Ocean' to RAINN. I wore 2 coats for photos, formula was good no issues to report.

Native War Paints Audrey
a tri-thermal which shifts from purple to dark blue to light blue along with copper to green unicorn pee and copper shimmer. Because my nails are super short, I dunk them in ice water and quickly take the photo, thus, the third shade doesn't show well on my nails but I have seen the effect on those with much longer nails than mine. I wore 2 coats for photos, formula was good no issues to report.
