JINDIE-Pendence

Products provided for review.

We hold these polishes to be self-exhilerating!

Yes, yes we do!
JINDIE-Pendence is a jindienails.com exclusive, limited edition, and only available in full size bottles until July 4, 2013 or sold out (whichever comes first).

Eeee!! Sooo much glittah! Stars, squares, rectangles, dots, hexes and diamonds!! I really enjoyed the abundance of glitter, variety in size and shape and I think she does the white crelly base really well! No streaks, no digging, redipping or dabbing; although I did smoosh the brush a little to move some of the shapes around and just look at all that glitter goodness on each nail! Super easy to use!

Spy Princess Nail Lacquer

Products provided for review.

I just love it when companies take care to package their polish up like a gift. Its a fun surprise to open and for me, it speaks volumes about the company. She even enclosed a handwritten note. Spy Princess has packaging down to a science!

When I was asked to review these polishes, I mentioned to Chrissy that my favorite colors were blues, browns, purples and greens. She doesn't have a purple polish in her shop, but she added purple to the package and I like to think she did that just for me! And aren't the little polish burritos cute all tied up with a shiny bow?

Jindie Nails: Spring Chic Collection

Products provided for review.

Jindie's Spring Chic collection is packed with neon crellies and glitter surprises! I was grinning ear to ear as I unwrapped each bottle to see what she had sent to me. Each one of them, gorgeous!
I strive to get my photos color accurate, but neons, especially peachy/coral ones prove to be challenging so I have noted where there are color differences from my photo and the polish.

I'll be using Jindie's descriptions - she sent them to me in a file to help make the big entry easier. I really appreciate that she did that!

Ok, are you ready for some sparkle?!

Nude Beach
is such a fun cheery polish! I wore three easy coats in these photos. While i was painting, I giggled because the name brought forth imagery of what a nude beach might look like on a warm summer day. I've not been to one, but now my nails have! And I don't know how she did it but the white stars definitely show through the crelly base - genius!

Nude Beach: Nude crelly base with a mix of metallic sand colored sparkling hex, iridescent hex, matte white hex & tiny stars plus and abundance of neon orange, neon blue, neon pink, neon purple, neon green & neon yellow hex in several sizes.

Fun Intended is a really bright neon pink. My camera shot it too blue and I couldn't get the color accurate in photoshop, so I googled for an image with the color in it, but there were none to be found. Its a true neon pink, similar to the sinful colors Fusion Neon in person, since digital images of it are not accurate either.
I wore two coats here, and alternated painting with a dab here and there to move some of the glitters around. I added a coat of Gelous and Seche Vite so it'd be smooth and glossy.

Fun Intended is a bright pastel neon pink crelly with a mix of neon pink, neon orange, metallic silver, metallic orange, metallic magenta & tiny white stars, hex, short bars & dots plus neon pink butterflies. Opaque in 2-3 coats & meant to be worn on its own.

Mango with the Flow
is another beautiful pastel neon, but in peach. The photos here are the right shade of peach but they're not quite as vivid/bright as the polish is on the nail. Its jam packed full of glitter and those iridescent hexes were exciting to me as they revealed themselves on the nail! I didn't read the descriptions before I polished with any of these, so each one was a surprise!

Mango with the Flow: Pastel peach crelly (cream/jelly) with metallic silver hex, blue & purple iridescent hex, lime green/gold iridescent hex. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Meant to be worn alone.

Princess Consuela Bananahammock made me giggle when I saw the name and I think the polish is a good match for it! The contrast of the bright pink and orange glitter in the yellow crelly base really draws the eye! I wore one coat over a white cream polish to really bring out the neon yellow. Very easy to apply except for my giggling at the name every few brush strokes!

Princess Consuela Bananahammock is named after the Friends episode where Phoebe changed her name to this hysterical name. PCBH is a bright neon yellow crelly with a mix of matte satin red, orange, neon pink, neon orange, neon dark orange hex plus matte red tiny red stars.

The last two polishes I'm sharing with you are my favorites of this collection: HipStar cause its purple (and you all know how I love purple!) and Fantastical because I love the combination of colors she chose for it!

I wore two to three coats of HipStar and did a brush dab method where needed. Such a pleasing combination of glitter and color, I didn't want to take this one off!

HipStar: Periwinkle crelly with a mix of neon pink, neon purple, metallic silver hex, stars & dots. Opaque in 2-3 coats, meant to be worn on its own.

HUGE turquoise holo dots!?! Yes please! Fantastical is simply stunning in the bottle and on the nail. Its packed full of shimmer and sparkle and I love the contrast between the turquoise and coral. I was thrilled that she sent a full sized bottle of this one to me (minis in the other colors). I found it challenging to use the minis because of the bottle shape; the threads around the neck seemed to keep the brush from dipping in very far once the cap was off. So I held them tipped over at a diagonal and let the polish run to the brush. The full sized bottle was perfectly easy to use though; I'd suggest getting full size if you plan to purchase these.

Fantastical: Bright, pastel coral crelly (cream/jelly) with a mix of satin matte aqua hex and regular sized stars, metallic and holographic teal smaller sized stars, squares, hex and large dots, turquoise, green/gold iridescent hex, plus beautiful color shifting teal shimmer. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Meant to be worn on its own.

All of these polishes went on easily, no fussing with streaks or digging around for glitter. All that glitter you see on my nails in the photos is what came out of the bottle with a dip of the brush each time I needed more paint. The crelly formula layers up opaque very nicely and doesn't require undies unless you want to use them.

Get your hands on these during Jindie's next restock tomorrow! (Sunday May 19)
You can visit her shop at http://jindienails.com and you can follow the brand on facebook.

Urban Lacquer: The CEO Collection

Products provided for review.

Looking for a polish that can be worn to the office? Not really interested in glitter polishes?

If so, Urban Lacquer has just the thing!
The CEO Collection polishes are beautiful colors full of shimmer and absolutely office appropriate.
Take It Offline is a flashy copper-gold color yet neutral enough for office attire! Its quite versatile; wear it by itself or with a glitter topper. I've worn 2 coats in the below photos.

Synergy is another poilsh in the CEO Collection, and is a gorgeous maroon blend with blue-green micro shimmer. I tried my best to capture the shimmer, its definitely more showy in person than on film. I wore two coats of Synergy for these photos.

In these photos, I topped Synergy with Sugar Britches from the General Collection. Who'd have thought such a girly glitter could be office appropriate too? With the right polish underneath, I sure think it is!

The other polish in the CEO Collection is Drill Down which is a purply / burgundy / brown shimmery polish, the shade depends on the lighting.

All Urban Lacquer polishes are 3-free; they do not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate. All polishes are hand-blended in small batches, so there may be slight variations from batch to batch. Each polish has the color name hand written neatly on the side of the label along with all the ingredients.

The CEO Collection is available at the Urban Lacquer Etsy Shop and you can follow them on Facebook.

Guest Post: Lori from Things I Heart, Part 3

So, this is the last post for my guest post here on xoxojen.  I had so much fun doing this!!

Jen may be an evil enabler, but I am so very thankful that she is!  Not only has she helped me with the basics of nail polish and doing my own manis, she has also helped me with my blog http://thingsiheart1981.blogspot.com.  She takes her time and makes calendars of indies that are restocking, with date and time.  I've asked her many questions (some are probably really dumb too lol!) and she always answers with helpful advise.  Jen is a very wonderful lady :-)

I got the perfect polish for this post!  Rescue Beauty Lounge Thank You.  Thank You is a gorgeous nude with some awesome pink shimmers.  The shimmers are not visible in my pictures, but they are there in real life.  I wanna make you all aware that I got bubbles with this polish.  I painted my nails three times with it, but it didn't help. So, just ignore them ;-)

All of these swatches are two coats of RBL Thank You, then I added the nail stickers from jobynailart.com.  I applied two coats of Gelous and one coat of HKG :-)

I hope everyone enjoyed these posts!  I had a ton of fun doing this and am honored Jen asked me to guest post on her lovely blog!!!

Thank you for everything Jen <3!!

My pleasure Lori! I would love to do this again sometime! I've really enjoyed your blog entries and manicures.

If you haven't already, please do stop by Lori's blog and leave some love and a follow!
What say you, dear readers, shall we persuade her to come and guest post again sometime?

Guest Post: Lori from Things I Heart, Part 2

-     Hi again!!  I have the second part of my story I put together for my guest post here on xoxoJen!

So, we all know Jen takes amazing photos of nail polish!  When I first started reading about nail polish on "The Blue", Jen would always post links to gorgeous polish and keep us up to date on stockings.  The first time I experienced her posting a link, I replied "Damn You Jen!"  She replied with "You're welcome!"  Apparently, this wasn't the first time it was said to Jen regarding her "evil enabling".   "Damn You Jen" became a phrase used often and I wanted to do a manicure that focused on that phrase...

I started with two coats of Illamasqua Loella and topped that with one coat of Enchanteds Castle on a Cloud.  Both polishes applied so easily!!  I love how the Enchanted added a bit of spunk to Loella.  These photos are without topcoat.

So, I then added my little "Damn You Jen" part.

I decided to buy some stickers from jobynailart.com.  This was a perfect opportunity to buy them to try.  They are super easier to apply than I thought.  I did have to redo my pointer finger because I tried to apply the stickers with my fingers, but tweezers are the way to go!  I just added these stickers and put on a coat of Gelous then my HG topcoat, HKG!  This was really so much fun to do!!!

Oh my gosh! That is the cutest mani I have ever seen Lori!! I'm so touched! -sniffle-
You guys have got to go visit and follow her blog now, look how sweet she is!

Guest Post: Lori from Things I Heart, Part 1

First off, I'd like to introduce myself!  I'm Lori C. from Things I Heart, a very new blog that I started to showcase all those... things I love!  When Jen asked me to do a guest post, I got very excited, then very nervous!  She is such a wonderful blogger and lady that I'm just a tad intimidated :-D  I had alot in mind at what I wanted to do and came up with the idea of a 3 part story!  So, here goes!

There is this wonderful place.  A place where you can buy/sell/trade Lush products, MoonaLisa, Haunt, nail polish and many, many other things.  This is a place we call "The Blue".  I joined a couple years ago to offload the unwanted bath and body items and/or buy other HTF items.  I only really ventured into the "Swap" area in the beginning.  Then, one fateful day, I went into a different section and saw a link about nail polish.  I clicked on it, thinking it'd only be the polish I was used to seeing at salons.  Was I in for a surprise!!!  That was a year ago and I am still just as excited to stalk a sought after brand and get new nail mail!

In my journey of learning about nail polish, I met some very awesome ladies and am still meeting awesome ladies!  These ladies have been so helpful to me, a girl that used to have someone else do my manis.  Jen was the first one to PM me and offer help.  I knew nothing!  Not only have we shared nail polish, but things in our own lives.  A little family of crazy polished lacquer heads!!

I wanna show two blue polishes that I received as gifts from two ladies I met on "The Blue".  These polishes were frankened by the ladies and aren't for sale anywhere.

The first polish was made by an awesome lady that is super talented, but makes polishes just for fun :-)  This is a polish she named "Love Bot Wife".  It's a gorgeous blue that has amazing micro shimmers in blue and silver.  The blue shimmers will turn a little bit darker blue to a light tealish green.  There are also silver hexes and silver squares in there.  I adore this polish!  It is the perfect amount of glitters.  I'm going to have to use the mini sparingly.  It was also a dream to apply.  This mani is a basecoat of Glisten and Glow Stuck on Blu!, two coats of Elevation Alphubel, one coat of Love Bot Wife, a coat of Gelous then a topcoat of Glisten and Glow HKG.

Next up, is a gorgeous franken made by another lady on "The Blue"!  This polish, that is named "Fade to Winter", is a beautiful light blue, maybe periwinkle cream with the perfect mix of tealish green micro glitters, some silver glitters and some dark purple micro glitter.  I also layered this over two coats of Elevations Alphubel (better match as an undie with this polish), then two coats of Fade to Winter, a coat of Gelous then a coat of G&G HKG topcoat.  Application was perfection as well :-)

Thank you for letting me share my "The Blue" inspired post!

<3,

Lori~

Thank you so much for being a guest at my blog! I loved reminiscing while reading the story - it made me smile from ear to ear! It saddens me to see The Blue come to an end, but we'll definitely stay in touch!

Lori has a beautiful blog and recently reviewed one of the new RBL polishes!
Let's show her some love by visiting, shall we? -------------> Things I <3

Indie Polish

Products provided for review.

The Indie Polish shop opened in October, is based in Canada and ships worldwide. Tanya asked if I would choose some polishes to review so I chose two and she sent four! And they are all full sized! Now if that doesn't show she takes pride in her product, I don't know what does. The polishes arrived packed snugly in a cute box.
Let's have a look!

Tanya describes all of these really well, so I'm going to use her descriptions for each.

"I ADORE ORANGE and you just don't see it enough! This is Sun Kissed Peach
It's a beautiful blend of tangerine pop mica with tiny gold holo glitter! Perfect to brighten up a cold day or on your next world wide trip to the tropics!"

I wore three coats over Sinful Colors Cloud 9. The polish was easy to apply and there was plenty of the glitter on the nail with each swipe of the brush.

"Joni is a blend of Blue Mica and equally blue glitter....it's STUNNING"

I wore three coats on its own, and while I can see vnl in the photos, I didn't see it in person. Its a really beautifully sparkly polish!

"KAboom (named by my son) is a unique polish in that it looks totally different depending on the light....sometimes it looks more purple and sometimes more fuschia. It is a mix of fuschia and plum micro fine glitters in our clear suspending base. WE LOVE IT! and hope you will too!"

I've saved my two favorites for last, and this is one of them! Its jam packed with glitter and super sparkly! I wore this over Sinful Shine's Most Sinful and stamped the accent nail with plate vl001 from Vivid Lacquer.

I added Hard Candy matte top coat and its just as stunning this way!

In my haste, I grabbed the wrong bottle for this photo, but that leads us to the next polish!

"Adoptable is a neat sheerer wine red (yes I know it looks purple) it's a deep, regal merlot red...with AMAZING electric blue glitter. This polish can easily be worn over an existing polish or built up to an opaque polish."

I used several coats (more than five) to reach opacity, as I wanted to keep this polish true to how it looks in the bottle. Its a super glossy jelly with very sparkly glitter. And, there is one bottle left at the sale price right now as I write this post entry!

Each polish was smooth and easy to apply, has cute handwritten labels and are made with love and care. Tanya's son often helps her design and name the polishes too!

Their polish is made in very small hand mixed batches (1 or 2 bottles of each size per color) using a 3-free base that is cruelty-free. They use pigments, micas and glitters locally sourced thru reputable suppliers and other etsy shops.

What are you waiting for? Head on over to The Indie Polish shop or visit and like their facebook page to see what's new!
