Candy Lacquer: Zelda Flakies

Candy Lacquer has created a set of beautiful flakie polishes inspired by the Legend of Zelda video games. She couldn't have had more perfect timing with the recent announcement at E3! These flakie polishes are beautiful and shifty and quite camera shy! So we'll have to rely on the descriptions as well as what I was able to capture in the photos.

Zelda's Adventure: A mix of multichrome flakies that shift between fuchsia, red, copper, gold and green.
The green was camera shy in my photos, but can be seen at extreme angles (top of the macro shot) or in dimmer lighting - definitely there, but more shy than the gold, copper and fuchsia colors. I think this is perfect for the upcoming fall season too.

Link's Awakening: A mix of multichrome flakies that shift between lime, green, teal, blue and purple.
This is my favorite - it has all my very favorite colors in it, couldn't be more perfect! The shift from green to teal and blue in this make it look so ocean goddess or mermaid like. Not mentioned in the description, but I also caught glimpses of pink while wearing this.

Tri Force Heroes: A mix of multichrome flakies that shift between blue, violet, purple, pink and gold.
At a glance, in the bottle this looks mostly violet with sparks of gold and an almost bronze shade, on closer inspection I can definitely see the pink and blue flashes.

Spirit Tracks: A rainbow mix of multichrome flakies in a sheer holographic base.
My second favorite of the bunch! It has a golden sheen on the surface and with a closer look the holographic rainbow appears like magic and an even closer look reveals a rainbow of shifting flakies - it's quite spectacular! Photos don't do it justice.

I wore two coats of each polish for the photos, they were easy to apply and to remove (not at all like glitter!). And oh my wow the shiftiness of them all! In different lighting and at different angles the same polish can look completely different! It's like an instant polish change. You can get these on Friday, 6/17 at the Candy Lacquer Shop, along with many other pretty polishes!

Anchor & Heart: The Rock

Friendship is an extraordinary and unique feeling shared between people. A true best friend is hard to come by and it’s important to remind your friends how much they mean to you. With that, I bring you a polish from Anchor & Heart Lacquer from the My Friends, My Anchors collection, called The Rock.

When I first laid eyes on this polish, I knew I had to have it. Smokey purples and holo always catch my eye, I have to have them all. In fact I did a custom collab polish with a similar concept a while back.

After receiving The Rock, I was quite excited to wear it - in the bottle it is stunning. On the nail, even more so! I wore two coats with topcoat for over a week. The wear time is fantastic, application perfect, and formula smooth and easy, like butter. This was my very first purchase from Anchor & Heart, and I'm sure I'll be returning to get the next polish of hers that catches my eye.

This polish also has a strong violet shimmer, but it was challenging to capture but is somewhat visible in the macro shot. The violet shift is stronger in person, I promise. :)

If you've not tried this brand, you should. Taryn is a sweetheart, you can get to know her through her facebook group and other communities there. She is quite active and personable. She is also featured in our upcoming Teal Box over at The Color Box. If you haven't joined us yet you should! Each blogger will begin revealing their polishes in the group starting tomorrow!

Indigo Bananas:Cherry Blossom Roads and Do Your Duty

We recently had an event at work that required I do a different job, work much longer hours, and not leave the building during work hours. I rose up to the challenge, albeit a bit anxious about the whole thing, I learned a heap and always came home absolutely exhausted. Yet I would return to work bright and early and ready to tackle another day.

I'm back now! Back to normal hours, my usual job, and the free time that I used to have is also back!
What's that noise? That's me cheering so loud you can hear it from where you sit!
Anywho, when I came back to the blog to see what I could post today, I found that the names of these two Indigo Bananas polishes were quite suitable for my recent past and the present.

Do Your Duty as described by the brand is a dark blue/blackened blue linear holographic. It is much darker than other Indigo Bananas holos, but not near-black nor inky (compared to Night Gathers, which is an inky black). The holographic flame gives this polish the illusion that it is more blue leaning than it is.

I wore two coats to insure it was opaque for photos, but I strongly believe it only needed one good thick coat. Absolutely stunning in sunlight and still holo indoors. The formula was fluid and fantastic to apply.

Cherry Blossom Roads is what I'm hoping my future will be like (after I catch up on work left undone of course!). Pink, full of happy colorful shimmers and warm weather joy! I wore two coats and topcoat for an opaque look. The formula was good and easy to apply.
