Twinkle Hex: Field Guide of Lesser Known Cryptids (PBE Launch)

"Please do not attempt to pet the cryptids. You may, however, wear them."

When Tracey, the brilliant maker behind Twinkle Hex Polish, shared that warning, I knew I was in for a treat! This is Tracey’s very first Polish & Beauty Expo, and she is making a splash with a lineup inspired by legendary beasts.

From glowing goblins to giant turtles, these six cryptids have all earned a permanent place in the field guide, and on our nails. I am so incredibly excited to welcome Twinkle Hex to the swatching table today. Whether you are prepping your shopping list for PBE or just love a beautifully complex indie polish, you won’t want to miss these. They all have a fantastic formula, the screen print on the bottle is so heavy duty that it is slightly raised and I love that. The brush wand is long enough to reach the bottom of the bottle. In my experience the last two features I mentioned are very unusual in my indie collection. Let's meet the cryptids!

xoxoJen's swatch of Twinkle Hex: Field Guide of Lesser Known Cryptids

Beast of Busco - a shimmering metallic multichrome that shifts from a warm copper to a reddish bronze. This cryptid is a giant snapping turtle said to inhabit a lake in Indiana and has never been found.

Enfield Horror - an aquamarine jelly base packed with green-to-gold shifting flakes and pink shifting flakes. A shimmering, multidimensional tribute to the three-legged creature of Illinois lore.

Fresno Nightcrawler - a light grey crelly with ghostly silver flakes and navy micro holo glitter. This unique, interactive formula features a dual-effect: it develops a faint blue tint in the sun (solar) and glows bright blue in the dark. Perhaps one of the strangest cryptids ever captured on video, it appears as a pair of walking legs wandering through the night. Its shape has made it one of the internet's most enduring mysteries.

Hodag - a periwinkle to purple crelly duochrome featuring a delicate pink shimmer. Inspired by Wisconsin's mythical woodland beast, this shifting shade is glowy with mysterious color transitions. If I had to choose a favorite from this collection, this is the one!

Hopkinsville Goblins - a lime green jelly packed with shifting green iridescent flakes. Inspired by the legendary Kentucky farmhouse encounter, this bright playful shade is a joy to wear on fingers or toes.

Loveland Frog - a multichrome magnetic polish in a deep teal base featuring a vibrant blue-to-purple shifting shimmer and a an orange-to-pink 3-dimensional shift. A playfully slimy, luminous tribute to Ohio's favorite wand-waving cryptid. Shown in velvet on my index and pinky, and with a bar magnet, diagonally, on my middle and ring finger.

All of my swatches are shown in two thick coats with topcoat and had no formula issues unless otherwise stated. All photography uses a neutral color temperature bulb with white bounce card. My nails are natural with no enhancements, except for a patch on my middle nail, and no blurring/cream base. I have a fairly prominent VNL.

Never miss a swatch!
