HPB Presents: Holiday Manis

What is Jen up to with this mess of nail supplies?

xoxoJen's Holiday nail art supplies 2014

She's doing a special mani for the Hobby Polish Bloggers' holiday link up!

Hobby Polish Bloggers is a group of nail bloggers on Facebook. We're a diverse group who help each other discover new ways of getting the blogging done, sharing feedback when asked, and growing our friendships inside and outside the group. Each and every lady in our group is special and supportive of each other and we each contribute in different ways.

The theme for December is Holiday manicures. I've created some nail art to share some of my holiday memories!

The first nail reminds me of the snowstorm a few years ago on Christmas Eve when Jason and I ended up spending the night at my mom's because there was so much snow, we couldn't even back out of the driveway.

The second nail is Santa's suit which reminds me of Christmas's past when my grandpa would dress up in the Santa suit my grandma made for him. He'd hand out presents to my sister and I every Christmas.

The third and fourth nails are a Christmas tree and a gift, which are always a part of our holidays - past, present and future.

Lumina Lacquer: Luck O' the Irish

I love a chunky glitter and green is one of my favorite colors so I absolutely could not pass up this green glitter bomb from Lumina Lacquer!
Luck O' The Irish has clovers, stars, gold coins, green coins, green hexes and micro glitter. A lot of those glitters are holo so there's a rainbow in the bottle too!
How perfect for St. Patrick's day, yes?

No fishing with this glitter at all; Lumina Lacquers are amazing like that. I wore one coat over Elevation Cuernos del Paine.

I hope your St. Pat's is awesome! Are you wearing green or did you get pinched!?

Hot Pink Holographics!

Sparkles are a Girl's Best Friend
from Colors by Llarowe (CbL) is my favorite hot pink holo polish. Its a one coater. Its got a beautiful bendy rainbow. Its such a perfect shade of pink, a bright vibrant shade, almost berry but not quite - which has been impossible for me to find until this polish.

The flat brush allows for super easy control of where the polish lands and is fairly soft so there's no streaking. The formula is perfection and I've found that layering these CbL holos with Gelous, sandwich style, makes them last for nearly two weeks!

I wore the CbL for a few days and decided I wanted some..... GLITTAH!!!

Lumina Lacquer's Smooth Operator is the perfect topper for it. Its a hot pink holo glitter topcoat which happened to be nearly identical in color! Such a perfect color. Smooth Operator was very easy to apply and I LOVE glitter so I used two coats. This polish makes a good texture-like polish without topcoat, but I went for the gloss and topcoated it!

I love a good hot pink nail polish, especially when it sparkles in rainbow colors like these! What's your favorite holo polish color?

Enchanted January and Lumina Lacquer Dreamlover

I couldn't blog Enchanted's December without doing January next! Its also a perfect base color for Dreamlover from Lumina Lacquer. And so here they are together!

January 2014 was a mystery polish. Chelsea from Enchanted didn't post any photos or descriptions of this polish before it was for sale. A complete mystery! Pretty fun, yet it left me a little unsure of my purchase! I went for it though and I'm glad I did because this one's really pretty!

Its a dark inky blackened teal. It looks navy blue in most lighting - I actually figured out it was teal when I was putting it on and saw the polish running down the inside of the bottle neck with the light shining through. It definitely has a hint of green in it! And where the holo rainbow's color is green, it looks awesome! I did my best to capture it, but really this is one that needs to be seen in person to get the full effect.

Swatches are one coat with topcoat.

I LOVE neon pink matte glitter and this polish fulfills a long time lemming of mine for a neon pink chunky glitter topper (with shapes!) and purple shimmer. Its all that and a bag of chips!

Dreamlover has various sized hex glitters, butterflies, stars and hearts! It might contain other shapes that I haven't pulled out of the bottle yet. Having surprise shapes on the brush is one of the things I love about polishes like this!

This glitter topper is absolutely packed to the brim with glitter and shimmer - I didn't fish at all, in fact I had to put some glitter shapes back in the bottle!
The shimmer. Oh man, the purple shimmer in this polish steals my heart! Just look at it. Isn't it amazing and beautiful? I was able to get a really good macro of the shimmer, a butterfly and a heart - take a look!

Swatches are one coat over EP Jan 2014 with Gelous and topcoat to smooth.

What is your long time lemming that just doesn't seem to exist?

Editing in to add: A reader just informed me that Dreamlover is similar to Enchanted Polish's Life in Plastic. I did some google image searching and from what I see they are similar except that Dreamlover has a few more shapes; butterflies, hearts, stars, hexes and squares, where Life in Plastic has hexes, squares and stars. So if you have been wanting the EP this would make a great alternative! Especially if you love more variety in glitter shapes!
