Chimney Sweep
This soot-inspired silvery gray is filled with silver sparkle and holographic microflakes. If you are ready to step in time with Bert, this color is all you need for a little chimney sweep luck. Shown is two coats with topcoat, formula is easy to apply.

Supercal
A bright blue based multichrome shimmer that shifts between blue, turquoise, purple, and gold. Also includes pink to green shifting aurora shimmer. The dancers in the musical use this nickname for Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and a shimmering multichrome seemed perfect for something that can’t quite be described. Shown is two coats with topcoat, formula is easy to apply.

Rosy Cheeks
A beautiful full coverage red cream that leans slightly pink. In the advertisement for a nanny written by the Banks children, they specifically requested rosy cheeks and Mary Poppins certainly fit their description. Shown is two coats with topcoat, formula is buttery and perfect. Now that we have a beautiful one coat black and now a perfect red, I'm waiting for Nikki to create the perfect white cream. ;)

Feed the Birds
An incredibly sparkly polish with a base of gold shimmers, gold microflakes, and holographic gold glitters that is topped with a rainbow of multichrome flakies. Feed the Birds is inspired by the bird-filled golden snow globe from the original movie. Shown in one coat over Rosy Cheeks. A second coat of this would likely be opaque - wear it alone or over something!

Spoonful of Sugar
A holographic topper that is the perfect sweet addition to any mani. Holographic microflakes mix together with sugar crystal white glitters for a unique take on the classic holo topper. Shown in one coat over both Chimney Sweep and then Supercal.

GIrly Bits: Hearts In Bloom

Girly Bits released the six piece Bridal Bliss collection of pastel creams last summer and in it is Hearts In Bloom, a pastel pink cream.

The formula was creamy and nearly opaque in one coat, shown is two topped with topcoat.

The shades in the whole collection make me crave macraons and other assorted sweets, so I couldn't resist stamping cupcakes when I came across this design!
I used Joss stamping in Crimson Shimmer and plate xy-t29 from aliexpress.

My Ten Friends: Holtzman Effect and Clusterfrak

I'm quite excited about today's post because I get to share a blast from the past and something totally new from My Ten Friends!

Clusterfrak is one of the original colors in the first launch of the My Ten Friends brand and Mei-Lynn has reformulated it and brought it back for us to enjoy! It's a vibrant almost limey green that sparkles with gold holo, purple shreds, and bright matte blue glitters. This polish is also packed to the brim with micro glitter and shimmer so it's opaque all on its own in just two coats. I do have the original and I think they're different enough from each other to own them both if you love the colors of the polish.

Brand new to the MTF line is The Holtzman Effect. I teased Mei-Lynn by telling her that she must have created this one especially for me because LOOK at the colors!! An indigo base with green shimmers and holo. How could a polish be more perfect for me, right? She appreciated my attempt and got a good laugh from it at least! :P

I'll write the real inspiration as described by Mei-Lynn below, as not to confuse anyone, but I'm still gonna be in my own world when I look at and wear this polish!
The Holtzman Effect is a fictional scientific phenomenon from Dune. While it can do many things, the part I like best is "its ability to fold space and time, and thus allow for instantaneous travel from one side of the universe to the other." (Dune Wiki)

I took a bottle shot because it really shows off the green shimmer and the purple leanings of the base color. On the nail, it looks more indigo or blue.

Literary Lacquer: Summer Bachelors (Indie Go Box LE)

Literary Lacquer's polish for the July Indie Go Box is called Summer Bachelors and is a beautiful smokey royal blue with tiny holo and even smaller navy blue glitters scattered throughout. The polish is fluid, applies easily and is opaque in two coats. If you liked Rare Book Room's style from the Holo Grail Box, you'll love how this one is made too!

Disney Duo: Space Mountain

Disney Theme Parks and movies both hold a special place in my heart. From my very first theater experience of watching Ichabod and Mr. Toad with my uncle to my most recent cross country theme park vacation, Disney is definitely special to me. I was so excited to have the chance to review a Disney ride inspired polish duo made by Sweet Heart Polish and Literary Lacquers. The set is limited edition and is part of Sweet Heart Polish's ongoing Disney Duo series.

Blast off through an energy tunnel pulsating with blinking lights and ascend a 180-foot high mountain. At the top, launch into the inky blackness of the dark universe, the mysterious sounds of space and celestial music filling the void. Travel through space, whizzing past stars, comets and meteors. Feel the push and pull of gravity as you re-enter through a worm hole and return safely back to the space station.

These polishes were inspired by the Space Mountain ride which is one of my favorite rides at Magic Kingdom.

Sirius is made by Sweet Heart Polish and is a royal blue holographic polish with silver shimmer sprinkles, like space dust. The color on my nail seems more saturated in person than in my photos, it's a very vibrant and vivid royal blue. I wore two coats and topcoat for extra shine.

The Literary Lacquers Polish, Very Sirius, is a lilac glitter holo packed with holographic sparkle and a smattering of tiny silver holo stars. I wore three coats for opaque coverage but it also makes a very pretty topper in one or two coats over your favorite shade. Lacey shows it worn over Sirius and it's beautiful that way!

The duo will be released at both Literary Lacquer and Sweet Heart Polish web shops at 2pm Central time on Saturday July 5th.

Serum No.5: Pink Peonies

Serum No. 5 makes such a variety of polishes from feminine to dark and everything in between! This next polish is on the more feminine side but has a touch of sparkle. Perfect for a mom and daughter day at the local tea house and shopping afterward!

xoxoJen's swatch of Serum No.5 Pink Peonies

The base color is a beautiful pastel slightly purpley pink sprinkled with fairy dust and pink and red glitters. It totally reminds me of a sweet treat!

xoxoJen's swatch of Serum No.5 Pink Peonies

I wore two coats with top coat for a smooth shiny finish. I think this would also look great as a funky french tip with perhaps some dainty nail art!

xoxoJen's swatch of Serum No.5 Pink Peonies

Not only do I love the packaging but also the brush, its a flat one which gives me really good control of where the polish lands! The formula was smooth and easy as with other polishes I've tried from Serum No. 5. And did you now that she makes a donation every single month to charity?

You can find this and many other beautiful polishes at the Serum No.5 shop! Be sure to keep up on the latest creations at the brand's https://www.facebook.com/serumno5 - she's been making some really awesome looking polishes lately!

Dazzled: April Holo Grail Box

I had not ordered any of the indie boxes yet but when I saw the preorder announcement for the April Holo Grail box, I gave in. It consists of four limited edition holo polishes made by four different indie companies. The Dazzled shop is the only place to purchase this particular box. For April it contained polishes from Emily De Molly, Literary Lacquers, NailNation 3000, and Philly Loves Lacquer. The boxes are only available via preorder a month in advance. I ordered the box March 7 and it arrived in late April. The polishes are each very pretty - take a look!

xoxoJen's shot of the April Holo Grail polishes from Dazzled

Imperfect Harmony is a periwinkle blue with a subtle linear holo. For holo polish, I prefer darker or more vibrant base colors because the holo pops more than on lighter shades, but I do love periwinkle! The formula was smooth and almost buttery to apply and was opaque in two coats.

Literary Lacquers' Rare Book Room is amazing and my favorite from the box. It's reminiscent of rare leather bound books with gilded edges. Amy has captured it so beautifully with the red leaning brown base color and tiny golden glitters. The holo in this one is very strong and linear, even indoors. It's opaque in two coats and is a dream to apply.

I Love You A Lime is the first Philly Loves Lacquer polish I've tried I am really liking the complexity of this color. There's golden flecks in there that sometimes look darkened along with a subtle holo shimmer and a barely there touch of green. The formula was on the thick side and opaque in two coats.

xoxoJen's swatch of Philly Loves Lacquer I Love You A Lime xoxoJen's swatch of Philly Loves Lacquer I Love You A Lime xoxoJen's swatch of Philly Loves Lacquer I Love You A Lime

Lastly is NailNation 3000's Once Bitten, a very juicy berry almost burgundy base color. The holo in this one is medium strength, I'd say; and the purple and pink hues in the holo are quite strong and give the polish a really magical glowy look!
I found the formula a little on the thick side but easy to use. This was opaque in one coat but I used two because I couldn't stop painting with it!

I'm glad you joined me on my first indie box journey and hope you've enjoyed the photos!
