Lover’s Point
This pale lavender cream was inspired by a tiny shell found on Lover's Point Beach near Pacific Grove, CA. It is just the right color to accompany California casual beachwear.

I cannot have a set of creams and not try to watermarble with them + Squid Ink, also from 1850 Artisan. I love how this turned out!

For each cream swatch I used two coats and all were opaque and applied like butter. For the matte look, I used kbshimmer Oh Matte!

The trio is fabulous and if you don't have Squid Ink yet, you should definitely pick it up too!

Happy 4th of July: Patriotic Nail Art 2018

Happy Fourth of July!!

xoxoJen's swatch of Happy 4th of July 2018: Patriotic Nail Art

Looking back over my blogging years, I noticed that the last time I did 4th of July nail art was in 2010. Has it really been 8 years?

xoxoJen's swatch of Happy 4th of July 2018: Patriotic Nail Art

While reading what I wrote back in 2010, my review says that was my first ever nail art! And to think I have not done nail art for any other July 4th holidays in between. Where did the time go?

xoxoJen's swatch of Happy 4th of July 2018: Patriotic Nail Art

So, in old school "Jen" fashion, here's the deets:

Brands and color names:
Revlon First Class (Blue Cream undies)
China Glaze Dorothy Who (blue glitter jelly)
Color Club Break It Up (Silver Holo w/microglitter)
KBShimmer Shoe The Blues Away (Blue holo used for stamping)
CBL A Part Of The Big Apple (Red holo used for stamping)
MDU Stamping Polish (white, I think it's number is 1 but it has rubbed off the bottle)

Coats: 2 of the Color Club and 1 each of ChG and Revlon
Top Coat: KBShimmer Clearly On Top
Wear: 1 day so far :)
For this nail art I used a variety of stamping plates, Lina Make Your Mark 03, A Fair To Remember and a small round unbranded from Aliexpress. This is the second time I've done nail art for the 4th of July Holiday. For me, this is kind of a big deal because I rarely have the time do nail art and even more rare, get to wear it.

What was your first ever nail art?

Different Dimension and Girly Bits Nail Art

I just recently received a new Lina Plate, Lovely Leaves, and was immediately inspired to stamp my current mani of Different Dimension Lett's Not Mintion It.

xoxoJen's swatch of Girly Bits Stump Up the Jam stamping art

To stamp, I began by applying dots of Stump Up the Jam and Walnuts About You to my plate over the tree design. I mixed them with the scraper on the plate to get a two-toned tree look. The Girly Bits fall collection is amazing for stamping, so glad I have them!

To create a cherry blossom tree, I dotted a variety of pinks from MDU over the dots design on the same plate.

I layered the pink dots over the stamped trees and topcoated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

After that, I decided to top it with Shift Happens, one of my favorite toppers from Girly Bits. I even ordered another bottle during her recent sale. :)

I really love how it looks with the topper! It adds a coppery and sometimes pink or golden looking shimmer to the overall look. I really enjoyed wearing cherry blossom trees on my nails, they make me happy! They also remind me of New York and the short time I got to visit. What is your favorite nail design to wear?

O My Jewels: Pinks and Blues

I'm sharing a new to me brand with you today, O My Jewels. Sophia and Billy partner to create beautiful polishes and run O My Jewels! They sent a few coordinating colors for me to review; and because they have different finishes, they're also perfect for nail art!

xoxoJen's swatch collage of O My Jewels

Love Junkie
Hot pink cream
I wore two coats with topcoat although, it didn't need top coat. It was super glossy on it's own and has such a buttery smooth formula!

Good Try
A pretty raspberry shimmery shade that shifts with different lighting.
Again, super great formula and just two coats for opacity.

Mermaid Tales
Purple mica shines through this aqua, blue - green shimmery dream.
Its name definitely suits it! Looks just like a mermaid! Two coats is shown, formula was fantastic!

Blue Heron
Medium blue cream
The formula for this cream was just as awesome as the pink one. Buttery, creamy smooth and opaque in one coat, but shown with two here.

Nail Art!
I felt creative and decided to do a few nail art looks with these.

First, is a look I created by using a fan brush with black and white polish over Love Junkie. The second look uses a sponged base of Love Junkie and Good Try with a black cream, and then stamped in white with a sunglasses design. Last is a double stamped mani over Blue Heron. I used a car design to stamp with Mermaid Tales and then shoes in white. I've kind of got a summer travel theme going here!

Overall, I'm pleased with my experience and the polishes from O My Jewels. Their polishes are wonderfully smooth and easy to apply. The shades are pretty and the variety in finish is fantastic across the board.

The above four polishes are available now, along with many other beauties at http://omyjewels.com/ Give them a visit, and snag a few of your own!

Jolie Polish: Rose Gold

I recently purchased my first Jolie Polishes to use for stamping. She has beautiful metallic shades and a very nice holo.

I hadn't yet decided what design to use them for when, a reader, Kelley and I were chatting on facebook. She told me she was going to do festive nail art with Christmas trees and I loved that idea! So I told her I might do some too, and here they are!

xoxoJen's swatch of Jolie Polish Rose Gold

I used the Rose Gold from Jolie and it was a great stamping experience. I just put one moderately loaded swipe across the top of the design, scraped and stamped. Each time I did this, the stamp lift and transfer were fantastic, no redos!

xoxoJen's swatch of Jolie Polish Rose Gold

It's such a nice breath of fresh air to have a stamping session go so well. On top of that - I didn't notice any overly strong odor with these - in fact, I didn't really notice an odor at all. Color me happy with this purchase!

What are your favorite designs to stamp for Christmas?

Great Lakes Lacquer: Love at Loyola

Love at Loyola was a VIP bag exclusive polish at Polish Con Chicago in September. It's a perfectly done vivid shade of raspberry packed with shimmer. The formula was smooth and amazing as usual, opaque in two coats.

After wearing this for a few days, I wondered how it would look with some bright blue stamping. So I tried it out - what do you think?

It was absolutely fantastic to meet and work with Mariah at the Polish Con! In this photo, it looks like serious business but she smiled a million smiles that day and greeted everyone at her booth with a hearty and welcoming hello. :)

I hope you've enjoyed this review and perhaps we'll meet at the next con in New York City! Let me know if you're planning to go!
