Happy 4th of July: Patriotic Nail Art 2018

Happy Fourth of July!!

xoxoJen's swatch of Happy 4th of July 2018: Patriotic Nail Art

Looking back over my blogging years, I noticed that the last time I did 4th of July nail art was in 2010. Has it really been 8 years?

While reading what I wrote back in 2010, my review says that was my first ever nail art! And to think I have not done nail art for any other July 4th holidays in between. Where did the time go?

xoxoJen's swatch of Happy 4th of July 2018: Patriotic Nail Art

So, in old school "Jen" fashion, here's the deets:

Brands and color names:
Revlon First Class (Blue Cream undies)
China Glaze Dorothy Who (blue glitter jelly)
Color Club Break It Up (Silver Holo w/microglitter)
KBShimmer Shoe The Blues Away (Blue holo used for stamping)
CBL A Part Of The Big Apple (Red holo used for stamping)
MDU Stamping Polish (white, I think it's number is 1 but it has rubbed off the bottle)

Coats: 2 of the Color Club and 1 each of ChG and Revlon
Top Coat: KBShimmer Clearly On Top
Wear: 1 day so far :)
For this nail art I used a variety of stamping plates, Lina Make Your Mark 03, A Fair To Remember and a small round unbranded from Aliexpress. This is the second time I've done nail art for the 4th of July Holiday. For me, this is kind of a big deal because I rarely have the time do nail art and even more rare, get to wear it.

What was your first ever nail art?

Psyche's Beau: Exclusive Lilypad Lacquers

Phuong Huynh recently opened her online shop called Psyche's Beau. In it, she carries several brands such as A-England, Bow, DRK, Germanikure, Lilypad, Polished for Days, and Starlight & Sparkles.

xoxoJen's review of Psyche's Beau

Psyche's Beau's very first exclusive shades were created by Lilypad Lacquer. They're both neutral shades with a sparkly feminine touch. The formula of each was crelly-like and I wore three coats with topcoat for photos.

Erosé
Vintage mauve with aqua flash shimmer plus iridescent flakes.

Aquay
Faded aqua grey with pink flash shimmer plus iridescent flakes.
The shimmer in this was difficult to capture under bright lights, but is definitely there. It looked almost coppery to me while wearing it.
I've included a bottle shot in softer lighting below that shows the shimmer much better.

I also did a bit of nail art using MDU 63 stamping polish and Infinity plate 108. I love how it turned out!

My experience with Psyche's Beau was first as a customer.
I placed an order for a couple of DRK polishes and the Germanikure mani stick (that thing is amaze!!) and she approached me with a request to review.
With a kind demeanor and quick shipping, she's been a pleasure both to buy from and to review for.

If you haven't visited yet, please click the link to her shop and have a look around. Her website is fun to browse, even if you aren't quite ready to purchase.
Don't wait too long though, grab the exclusives before they sell out! With how pretty these are, I think they will be gone quickly.

Star Wars Nail Art

When I saw this plate at AliExpress several months ago, I knew I had to have it just for this one image...and I finally got to put it to use!

This is Lou It Yourself's "Bye, Felucia" that I previously reviewed, stamped with MDU white.

Creative Shop and Vivid Lacquer Stamping

I recently purchased a behemoth of a stamper from Creative Shop after reading a review and watching a video over at http://pcontreras8nails.blogspot.com/. If you stamp or have tried it and gotten frustrated - you NEED to know about this stamper from Creative Shop. This is the first stamper that I've not had any trouble with right out of the box. No priming and no redoing my stamps. The clear plastic scraper is amazing too. It's a little thinner and much more accurate than a gift card. It's flexible and kind of hugs the plate leaving the perfect amount of polish down in the design.
I did the very first test stamp on paper and then did all my nails and every single stamp was perfect on the first try.

I got everything in this photo for $16.50 shipped. You can order in a facebook group for shipping to the USA.

For the first test stamp I used Black Cream from Wet N Wild.

For this look, I used a base color of Cupcake Polish Yule Be Missing Me stamped with MDU 49, the Creative Shop stamper and Vivid Lacquer Plate VL006 Snowflake pattern.

Vivid Lacquer is having a big sale right now too, prices are already marked down at her shop.

What is your favorite plate or stamper?

(MDU polish and Creative Shop items were purchased by me, the others were sent for review)
