The Color Box: Pink

The Color Box is a blogger and brand collaborative box lead by Julie from Blue-Eyed Girl, Manna from Manna's Manis and I. The idea was to have a single color themed box of custom blogger designed polishes. In each box we invite both new and well-known brands and bloggers. The fans vote for the color, and the box is a pre-order only launch that lasts a full week. Each brand also has the option of listing their polish in their own shop after the box has been shipped.

This month's box color is Pink! Pre-order is June 9th - June 16th. Each blogger and brand have done a fantastic job on their collaborations.

My collaboration with Cupcake Polish is Cyberpink, a hot pink holographic polish packed with super shiny silver flakies.
For summertime I wanted a super sparkly, rainbowy holo, bright magenta pink polish and Sara delivered! I couldn't be happier with it! The sparkle, the holo, the pink! Yup, I'm gushing over it and you will too when it's in your hands!

I wore two easy coats and topcoat for a glossy sheen. It was smooth as glass after completing my mani but if you paint thin, you may want to beef up the topcoat layer just in case.

Polish and Paws & Blue-Eyed Girl
Hiding Dory - a coral pink packed with aqua shimmer, fine turquoise shimmer, and gold microflakies.
So shimmery and flashing differently in varying lighting situations. I wore two coats with topcoat. Formula was smooth, no issues to report.

Snacks on Rotation & Night Owl Lacquer
Yes Way Rosé - a wine toned pink with light pink metallic micro flakies, pink crystal micro flakies and various sizes of lime green to gold color shifting iridescent glitters.
I love a good jelly and this one was fab. It has depth like candy and sparkle that glistens and flashes in any light. I wore two easy coats and I tend to paint heavy handed, if you use thin coats you may want a third coat.

My Lacquer Cabinet & BBP
Marilyn Mon-Rose - Bubblegum pink with gold flakies and a little bit of blue & violet shift
I like the large golden flecks and the crelly-like base, it reminds me of springtime and weddings. I wore two easy coats with topcoat, no issues to report.

Manna’s Manis & Top Shelf Lacquer
Manna's Mystifying Masterpiece - Super hot neon blinding pink crelly with purple fleck
The color of this polish is just like a pink highlighter marker, plus shimmer! I wore two easy coats with topcoat.

Bonus nail art! Using all five polishes with the Saran Wrap technique, I created a base and then stamped over it with Jolie Silver Bullet and the quatrefoil design from my custom Vivid Lacquer plate 043.

Necessary Evil: Galactic Line

My review today features a new to me brand and a fairly new shop.
The brand name was derived from Tamara's motto: "polish and lacquer is a necessary every gal needs and the want for every color becomes an evil obsession" and Necessary Evil Polish was born.

The bottles I received for review were packaged with care in bubble wrap and pretty tissue paper, along with a surprise skeleton gift! The bottle labels are edgy, glam and cute all at the same time.

The Galactic Line is their first collection and is inspired by space. The trio of polishes feature a variety of shades and finishes: a shimmer, a holo flake thermal, and a jelly with ucc flakies.

Venus is a bright pink shimmer polish, the perfect summer shade! I wore two coats with topcoat.

Midnight Constellation is a vampy blue jelly filled with multichrome flake and sparks of holo. I wore two coats with topcoat.

Red Dwarf is a thermal that is red when cool and transitions to a clear very neutral shade when warm that reveals the holo pigment, a coppery shift and opal chameleon flakes. It's super sparkly and beautiful! I wore two coats with topcoat.

The formula for all of these was buttery smooth. The variety of color and finish is great for a trio - office appropriate thermal, a sweet feminine shimmer, and a sexy vampy flakie.
Tamara was a sweetheart to work with, shipped promptly after we spoke, provided details to me so I could write a well informed review, and she's passionate about her work.

Give her brand a try and keep an eye out for new collections!

Shimmer Me Box: Totally 80s NEON

Livin' In A Material World is a neon coral with a green shimmer and a sprinkling of blue-purple iridescent micro glitters. Three coats with topcoat shown. Formula was a little thick but easily applied.

I've included a darkened version of each image as an attempt at portraying this shade more accurately. Neon corals, oranges and some pinks don't photograph well under my usual lighting.

The Future's So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades - Neon violet purple with intense pink Shimmer. Two coats with topcoat, formula was excellent.

Beetlejuice - A lemon-lime neon with white and green shimmer, flakies, and a bit of holo. Three coats with topcoat, in hindsight I should have gone for one more coat. Formula was a little thick but easily applied.
