KBShimmer: In Bare Form

I wore this polish last year and snapped some photos of it. I really enjoy wearing nude holo polishes, subtle but with a surprise punch! Shown is two coats with topcoat.

kbshimmer: Sandy for Polish Pick Up

Grease is one of Christy's favorite movies, and when it came to the Musical theme, she knew that she could use no other for her August Polish Pick Up exclusive.

At the start of the movie we instantly have all the feels for this young couple at the beach. Waves crashing, sun setting, we see the love between the two. Only when we hear that Sandy is leaving do we know we are in for a not so typical love story.

Those beach scenes inspired this sandy colored shade, called Sandy. The polish is loaded with a shimmer that shifts from the pink of sunset to the blue of Danny’s eyes. Holo glow flakes give this nude polish a hint of Sparkle.

And it makes the perfect palette for nail art! I used Girly Bits Acornucopia to stamp with Vivid Lacquer Plate 014.

I wore two coats of Sandy with kbshimmer Clearly On Top topcoat. The formula was buttery and opaque on the second coat.
Since it was pretty sheer on the first coat, I checked how it would look over another color, and yes folks, this can be used as a topper too!

Coming August 3rd exclusively to Polish Pick Up!

Also coming back for a limited time, a holiday favorite, Holly Back Girl! I don't have this polish, but it is a cute white crelly with red and green glitters and will be listed in the shop at launch.

For each of the above polishes, I wore two coats for opacity. Then I topped them each with Clearly On Top topcoat, the best quick dry top coat on the market today indie or otherwise! Yes, that is a strong statement and I absolutely believe it is true. Blogging for eight years, I've tried dozens and dozens of top coats and this is the holy grail of top coats. If you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for?!

KBShimmer’s Holo-day Collection will be available online Friday December 1st, 2017 at KBShimmer.com, Amazon.com and select salons & retailers.

Shimmer Me Box: Fall In Love

The Shimmer Me Box launched today, September 1 and will be for sale for one week. The theme this time is Fall In Love and the guest brand is Savannah Lacquer.
The September Shimmer Me Box comes with a free mystery polish from Native War Paints, so you'll get a total of five polishes. I didn't receive the mystery polish, so it shall remain a mystery!

Savannah Lacquer - Take Me Apple Picking - Red polish with green shimmer and scattered Holo with a dash of silver Holo microglitter
This was my first time trying this brand and I noticed this polish has a different odor than most. It reminds me of the base ILNP used when she first started out.

CbL - Falling to Pieces - Deep royal blue with aqua shimmer
Such a rich deep toned blue and wow, that shimmer! The shimmer is more apparent in different lighting, bringing out and almost teal look to the polish. Loving this!

Tux Polish - Love Potion No. Wine - Concord grape purple with holo sparkle, pink micro glitter, and blue and copper shimmer.
Quite sparkly!

NWP - Lay in the Fallen Leaves - Nude polish with red/orange/yellow shifting shimmer
This brand hasn't made a polish yet that I didn't love. I was skeptical about this one after seeing the bottle, but when I put it on -- magic!

All four polishes are shown in two coats and have fantastic formulas. I'm really loving the rich depth and glowy-ness of the CBL in this box.

Necessary Evil: Galactic Line

My review today features a new to me brand and a fairly new shop.
The brand name was derived from Tamara's motto: "polish and lacquer is a necessary every gal needs and the want for every color becomes an evil obsession" and Necessary Evil Polish was born.

The bottles I received for review were packaged with care in bubble wrap and pretty tissue paper, along with a surprise skeleton gift! The bottle labels are edgy, glam and cute all at the same time.

The Galactic Line is their first collection and is inspired by space. The trio of polishes feature a variety of shades and finishes: a shimmer, a holo flake thermal, and a jelly with ucc flakies.

Venus is a bright pink shimmer polish, the perfect summer shade! I wore two coats with topcoat.

Midnight Constellation is a vampy blue jelly filled with multichrome flake and sparks of holo. I wore two coats with topcoat.

Red Dwarf is a thermal that is red when cool and transitions to a clear very neutral shade when warm that reveals the holo pigment, a coppery shift and opal chameleon flakes. It's super sparkly and beautiful! I wore two coats with topcoat.

The formula for all of these was buttery smooth. The variety of color and finish is great for a trio - office appropriate thermal, a sweet feminine shimmer, and a sexy vampy flakie.
Tamara was a sweetheart to work with, shipped promptly after we spoke, provided details to me so I could write a well informed review, and she's passionate about her work.

Give her brand a try and keep an eye out for new collections!
