Literary Lacquers: Stars Walk Backward (box exclusive)

Stars Walk Backward from Literary Lacquers is part of a new Indie Box from The Nail Whisperer called My Favorite Things launching in a limited quantity on March 20 at 11pm SGT (10am CDT).

The polish is an inky blue bursting with twinkling holo glitter and pigment. I wore two coats and topcoat for a smooth glossy finish, no issues at all.

The inspiration for this polish is from an E.E. Cummings poem called "dive for dreams"
dive for dreams

or a slogan may topple you

(trees are their roots

and wind is wind)

trust your heart

if the seas catch fire

(and live by love

though the stars walk backward)

honour the past

but welcome the future

(and dance your death

away at this wedding)

never mind a world

with its villains or heroes

(for god likes girls

and tomorrow and the earth)

Believe In Yourself! - is the overall meaning of this poem to me. E.E. encourages us to always stand strong, fight for our dreams, be confident and have the deepest trust in your own heart. And in the last two stanzas, to welcome the future and ignore the bad things in the world; there is always good.
It's a pretty deep poem. Amy had good timing with introducing me to the polish and it's inspiration. She seems to have a knack for that. ;)

The other three polishes that come in the box with this one are very pretty! You can view those over at Nail Whisperer before launch.

Indigo Bananas: Gods and Monsters

Gods and Monsters has a smattering of multichrome shifting flakies within a dark blackened jelly base. Much like I'd imagine a dragon egg would look.

The effect is stunning! I wore two coats for opacity and the formula was smooth and easy to apply.

Kind of reminds me of the highly sought discontinued polish, The Uptown, only the base is a different shade.

I took some unusual angled photographs as an attempt to show off the shift. These really are just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. Gotta see this in person!

I hope you've enjoyed the review - what is your favorite Indigo Bananas Polish?

Ever After: Irish duo and a Peek at Spring

Ever After's Irish duo is unusual in the sense that it's not a green and gold duo but the colors of a good dark stout beer! I've created a sponged on gradient nail art look to mimic a tall glass of a dark Irish stout.

The blackened brown jelly is called The Good Stuff (opaque in two coats) and the sparkly sheer creamy shade is called Let It Settle. Underneath my gradient, I used a cream colored polish called Milky Ways.

We see you spring time! The beginning of spring from Ever After is this polish called Peep Show, a sparkly pastel yellow akin to the color of a marshmallow peep! It is a softened shade, which I enjoy more than the sharp/bright shades of yellow. I wore two coats to reach opacity.

I also shot a comparison of Peep Show and A Kiss Would Be Nice, Yes? to show the differences in the two polishes under the same lighting. I hope it's helpful!

These polishes and the Princess Collection all launch tomorrow at 5pm Central. Are you ready?!
