Believe: Sound the Alarm

What? Jen is reviewing something that's not indie? Yes, indeed! I have loads of mainstream polishes, it's what my collection started with in 2008; way back when indies did not exist.

This mainstream polish from Believe is more modern though. I swatched it last year, within about week of having purchased it. I saw it in a nail group and had to have it! The reason I needed that shade is because it reminds me of a custom tailored suit my mother made for me. The fabric I chose for it was a huge floral with golds, yellows, oranges, and greens. The lining and skirt that she made to go with the coat were this bright shade of orange.

Although the polish may look more red on some devices, it is definitely orange. I'd call it a bright red-orange, kind of like the crayola. Shown below is two coats with topcoat and a photo of it with matte topcoat. The formula was very fluid, not streaky at all but I had to take care with loading the brush and application as it would easily flood near the skin.

After about four days of wear, it began chipping. This is about half the wear time I usually get from other polishes. I'm still super happy about being able to add the shade to my collection. It's a bit nostalgic, as I no longer have the suit my mom made. It's also great color for summer time which is just around the corner!

Polish Pickup: Flowers

Available at Polish Pickup April 7-10 are some goodies from a variety of brands. I have items from KBShimmer to share with you!

KBshimmer Rose Were The Days Nail Polish – No Cap
The rose is such a classic flower, and with Christy's last name being Rose, it was clear to her what flower would inspire the April PPU nail polish. The velvet-like petals in a huge array of colors make them a favorite for floral gifting. Deep red expresses love, yellow a bright friendship, and pink signifies cheer. With their heady fragrance, roses find themselves to be a favorite among gardeners, too.

Rose Were The Days nail polish is a deep, magenta-leaning polish with pink and red tones. This vibrant, cool-toned shade is amplified with an orange to gold shifting shimmer. Depending on the lighting and viewing angle, this polish can skew pinker or more red. Holo glow flakes add a dewy holographic sparkle to this two-coat shade.

KBShimmer Pink Lotus & Lime Hand & Body Scrub – No Cap
Floating among vibrant green foliage, bright pink lotus blooms are such a beautiful pop of color. White, yellow, and pink in hue, these water-loving florals are a sight to see and are the inspiration for the April scrub, Pink Lotus & Lime.

With top notes of green and citrus like the lotus blossom, this semi-sweet sugar scrub is brightened with notes of key lime, kiwi slices, and pineapple. Hints of sultry jasmine add depth to this floral scent. A vibrant mix of pink, lime, and cream swirls borrow their hues from the lotus blossom for the perfect flower-inspired scrub. I don't typically like jasmine, but Christy is working magic ya'll. I'm 2 for 2 on these jasmine blends, this one is lovely! Don't miss it!

Psychedelic Pspace
This beauty is a violet polish loaded with pink iridescent flakes, with a splash of neon green, neon blue, and black matte glitters. It glows green in the dark and the glitter is black light reactive!
Such a juicy shade of purple and just look at the shift and sparkle at different angles! I couldn't do it justice ya'll, but I sure tried. Shown in two coats topped with KBShimmer Smooth Moves and Clearly on Top for a super glossy finish.

Check out that glow! It's super bright in person as well. The photos are in order taken, so you can see the polish at it's brightest first.
