China Glaze: Grinch Collaboration

I was asked by China Glaze to review their latest collection, The Grinch. I'm excited for the opportunity to share the polishes with you because of the variety of finish and color. There is bound to be something here that you'll love!
Straight from the top of the naughty list, #TheGrinch takes over China Glaze this holiday with a limited-edition lacquer collection. Stealing inspiration from the wonder of Who-ville, the Grinch collaboration makes your heart grow three sizes with a transformative palette of eight frosty shades alongside shimmering glitters and cool crèmes. This season is looking to be deliciously wicked...

#ChinaGlazexTheGrinch collection is available NOW at Sally Beauty, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, JCPenney, and other beauty retailers nationwide. #ChinaGlaze

First, I want to share the box set that China Glaze sent to me. It's a huge box with foam padding that each polish and nail set fits into. I took a closer shot of the nails since I do not wear enhancements. I won't be reviewing those but wanted to share what they look like. The nail art on them is fun and is sure to please! This also shows the two bottles of each of the topper polishes as well.

There are two topper type polishes in this collection, so I've shown them in one coat each over several of the other shades in the collection. The rainbow multi-glitter topper is called Resting Grinch Face and the iridescent sparkling topper is called Lukewarm Wishes. Both of them are beautiful and go well with this whole collection. I've also shown the gold micro-glitter polish called Merry Whatever, but its quite opaque and not really a topper style polish.

Grinchworthy
A very sparkly lime green microglitter, barely noticeable texture. Shown is 2 coats with topcoat.

Deliciously Wicked
A sky blue frosty base packed with holo glitter. 2 coats shown with topcoat.
I was excited when I first saw this polish in the bottle because I thought it was a jelly base like Dorothy Who? It's definitely not a jelly, but a frost.

Ho Ho No!
Tomato red cream with pin pricks of gold glitter. 2 coats with topcoat shown.

Merry Whatever
Akin to Grinchworthy, only a soft golden shade. 2 coats shown with topcoat; although this one is quite opaque in one coat and could be worn that way for a quick mani.

Who Wonder
Vibrant hot pink loaded with shimmer. I really love this finish and shade. It's rich and has depth. 2 coats with topcoat shown.

You're A Mean One
A purple jelly with red shimmer and my favorite of the collection. It reminds me somewhat of Clarins 230, but without the green shift. 2 coats with topcoat shown.

The formula for all of these was good, fluid and consistent except for Deliciously Wicked. I found it to be a bit on the thick side, and I think it's because of all the shimmer and glitter in it. A few drops of thinner would make it more fluid.

I enjoyed reviewing and swatching the China Glaze Grinch Collection, and I look forward to building a new relationship with China Glaze. You can find them at the links below, as well as beauty supply stores.

1850 Artisan Polish: Holiday 2018

1850 Artisan's Holiday 2018 collection is not to be missed. Nikki has created a set of five polishes that all work together to complete the perfect holiday manicures. The collection releases November 16th at 5pm Central on the 1850 Artisan Polish website.

xoxoJen's swatch of 1850 Artisan Holiday 2018

Revelry
a beautiful scattered holo thermal that is black with festive fuchsia/gold/green shifting flakies when cold and a shimmering silver holographic with flakies when warm. Perfect for holiday revelry and ringing in the New Year!

As described, very sparkly and transitions great! The transition seemed to stick around longer than most other thermals I've swatched. 2 coats shown.

California Holly
Inspired by the Toyon berries known as California Holly, this sumptuous darkened berry has just enough shimmer to make it the perfect addition to your holiday mani wardrobe.

Wow, what a red! Squishy, hidden shimmer to add depth, perfect formula. What more could you ask for from a red? If you have not yet found your holy grail red, this could totally be it! 2 coats shown.

Gilded
a sparkling, true gold sheer shimmer with fuchsia/gold/green shifting flakies. It can be worn as a topper with one coat, but two or three coats transform it into a decadent delight on its own.

Super sparkly! Its bling will definitely ring in the holidays! 2 coats shown.

Jubilant
Created to mirror the joy of the holidays, Jubilation is a silver base with a delicate multichrome shift to pink, blue, and purple. Scattered silver, fuchsia, and turquoise holographic micro-glitters bring sparkling light to this lovely winter polish.

Very reflective and shiny, with a bluish hue from all the iridescence. 2 coats shown.

Transcend
Frosted pine trees inspired this thermal that transitions from a deep green with gold micro flakes when cold to an icy shimmering white with gold micro flakes when warm. Transcend is a sophisticated thermal that will look beautiful all year long.

I have to admit, I was a little leary of the warm state but once I had the polish on my nails I fell for it pretty hard. 2 coats shown.

Below is one coat of each of the other four polishes over two coats of California Holly. My favorite of these is with Gilded. Gold and Red go so well together.

Ethereal Lacquer for Polish Pick Up: Moonlit Machete

The Polish Pick Up theme for September is Horror Movies, and Ethereal brings us a flakie polish inspired by Friday the 13th.

Moonlit Machete
A moonlit tanzanite jelly base with a murderous mix of iridescent flakies, aurora shimmer and a large particle multichrome flake.
Inspired by Jason’s Moonlit kills and the ever present blood that glistens on his machete!

I wore two coats with topcoat, formula was good and as expected for a polish so packed with flake! (slightly thicker than a typical plain jelly polish)

Cupcake Polish: 5th Anniversary Trio

Cupcake Polish and I are excited to celebrate their 5th year in business with a fantastic sale and anniversary trio!
What began as a hobby for Sara, has grown over the years into a standout brand known for their special effect and holographic nail polishes. From fingertips to toes, Cupcake has you covered!

xoxoJen's swatch of Cupcake Anniversary Trio
The extra novelties in the photo were sent as part of the press kit, but definitely join the facebook fan group and IG page because a little bird told me there might be giveaways!

Diamond
A multi-faceted iridescent topper packed with multicolored iridescent flakies and platinum silver micro flakies.
2 coats with topcoat, fairly smooth even with all the flake!

I'm speechless. Just get it so you can be speechless with me.
Seriously, it is unlike any other topper I have swatched or bought, indie or otherwise and you need to see it in person to get the full effect.

Celebrate
Blush pink nail polish with an elegant foiled finish
2 coats with topcoat.
Feminine and posh, this pink can be worn in a variety of ways. Whatever your heart desires.

In this photo of Celebrate I am showing a few other ways to wear this on its own. The two nails on the left show Celebrate sponged on for a pave effect and the two nails on the right show it topped with a matte topcoat.

5 Years
Magenta linear holographic nail polish with holographic microglitters and heavy blue shimmer
2 coats with topcoat.
Vibrant and delicate at the same time, is that even possible?

I could not resist topping both Celebrate and 5 Years with one coat of Diamond. They are all stunning together, just wow!
