Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! While some are looking for chocolates or flowers, I’m looking for shimmer and the February Hella Handmade Creations (HHC) shop does not disappoint. Launching February 14th, is a brand-new selection of limited-edition beauties.

If you are new to HHC, it is a fantastic monthly shopping platform that hosts a variety of indie makers. The cool thing about Hella Handmade Creations is that each maker chooses a specific theme (like a movie, a band, or a place) and creates a series of polishes over several months based on that inspiration. It’s a great way to see a creative vision come to life over time!

Because these items are handmade and exclusive to the event, they are only available for a short pre-order window. I have a few stunning selections from Nirvana, LynB Designs, Hula Moon and Victorian Varnish to show you today, but keep in mind that this is just a tiny peek at what's available. Hula Moon I Got No More Use For This Guy - I Got No More Use For This Guy is a black linear holo with red shimmer. cap 200




Hula Moon Mahalo for Eleven Years - Mahalo for Eleven Years has a purple jelly base with purple to gold iridescent flakies and holo glitter. This is a sibling polish to Mahalo for Ten Years. cap 200




LynB Designs Peep Durple - Peep Durple is a buildable purple base filled with a rainbow of shifting flakies and added holo sparkle. cap 150




Nirvana Aloha Forever - Aloha Forever has a juicy orange base that glows like a tropical sunset, with vibrant pink shimmer that dances through it like the last blush of daylight over warm ocean waves. 200 cap




Nirvana Reef or Ruin - Reef or Ruin has a blue base, then flashes violet, red, and orange like warning lights flickering through the water. 200 cap. Because my photos of this polish are quite sheer compared to other swatches, I let the maker know before publishing this review and they weren't sure what happened with the bottle I received. Based on that, I think it is not supposed to be this sheer. Check the other swatches in the HHC shop to see what it should look like.




Victorian Varnish Aloha Strawberry Potion Lotion - A fusion of sweet fresh strawberries, juicy tangerine, papaya and lovely coconut wrapped in a golden shortcake and whipped cream.




Victorian Varnish Frilly Lilly - Frilly Lilly is a bright green magnetic when magnetized reveals a stunning array of shifts throughout the rainbow and holo flakies add dimension. cap 300




Victorian Varnish Hoʻomaikaʻi - Hoʻomaikaʻi has a berry jelly base loaded with purple/violet/pink aurora shimmer with linear holo and holo flakies. 200 cap




Victorian Varnish Devine Lychee - A refreshing yet bright blend of lychee mixed with red tea, geranium, and lily. cap 50




All of my swatches are shown in two thick coats with topcoat and had no formula issues unless otherwise stated. All photography uses a neutral color temperature bulb with white bounce card. My nails are natural with no enhancements and no blurring/cream base, I have a fairly prominent VNL.

Welcome back to the blog! Today I have a stunning selection of swatches to share, featuring several different indie brands available right now through Hella Handmade Creations (HHC). If you aren't familiar with HHC, it’s a monthly shopping event where indie makers create unique products inspired by a theme of their choice.

The shop is currently open and stays live through January 21, so you have plenty of time to grab these beauties along with hundreds of other polishes, top coats, and other products from a variety of makers. It is truly a "one-stop shop" for indie lovers! In this month's lineup, I’m sharing some incredible finishes, from the glowing depth of Victorian Varnish to the flakie-filled goodness of Hula Moon. Let’s dive into the swatches and see what you need to add to your cart this month!




What Else Can We Pile On Here?! - has a gold jelly base filled with gold flakies, holo flakies, and pink to gold shimmer.




Beepy Slean - has a buildable green jelly base with silver microflakes and pink to gold to green shifting flakies.




Sunken Treasure - has a blackened wine base glimmers with flashes of blue and purple multichrome.




Living Work of Art - has a deep blue jelly base with an intense green/aqua/blue aurora shimmer with silver reflective glitters.




Mountain Tea Lavish Hand and Cuticle Cream - Brisk bergamot and mandarin pour over green tea for an alpine rush. A crystalline heart of jasmine and rose with black currant settles into clean musk and sandalwood brushed with moss.

Suede & Smoke - A spark of ginger zest opens the scent, sharp, clean, and quietly daring. At its heart, warm amber and supple leather mingle with the subtle spice of clove buds, creating a rich, textured warmth. The base smolders with smoked cedar, guaiacwood, and earthy patchouli, leaving behind a scent trail that’s deep, smoky, and undeniably refined.
