Above The Curve

I was recently gifted a mini polish from Shawn at Above the Curve. The polish is called Risen Angel and is a holographic polish with a base color of smokey purple and it is absolutely gorgeous, take a look!

Risen Angel applied like silk. It went exactly where I wanted it to, no running or gooping, no drag or smearing on extra brush strokes.

Absolutely perfect in every way. Indoors in low lighting, its a shimmery gorgeous shade, but with camera flash and brighter lighting the holo comes out to play!

I would call this a loose linear holo, its very pretty and such an unusual base color for a holo. This is only two coats too. I'm pretty smitten with Risen Angel and cannot wait to try a few more from their line. :)

You can get yours at their BigCartel Shop here: http://abovethecurve.bigcartel.com
Or the Etsy shop here (out of stock currently): http://www.etsy.com/shop/AboveTheCurve

They have low stock of this polish, so if you want it get it now. :)

If the photos and my obvious lust for this polish aren't enough, you can feel good knowing that Above The Curve donates part of the money from the sale of each bottle of polish. :)

We are a husband and wife team who love to make polish together!

When I was 12 I was diagnosed with a severe case of Scoliosis. I had a 72 degree curve and my spine was making my ribs twist into my heart and lungs. I had to have a rushed surgery to fuse my spine.

We were sent to Shriner's Hospitals for Children and they did my surgery for free!! They saved my life!

Without them I wouldn't have met my wonderful husband and have my 3 beautiful children!

We have always wanted to repay them and help raise awareness and funds for Shriners Hospitals For Children as well as raise awareness for Scoliosis!

Hence the name Above The Curve

$1.00 of every bottle sold is donated to Shriner's Hospitals For Children.

Enchanted / Urban Lacquer

Awesomeness is one of the few Enchanted polishes I own and its pretty freakin awesome. I wore one coat and it was completely opaque and smooth like I like it.
What could be better than a Purple Holographic polish?

A Purple Holo topped with holo glitter, of course! I wore 7 Wonders from Urban Lacquer in a gradient style with Awesomeness underneath. Ahhh so satisfying! :)

Enchanted is available at Big Cartel and Urban Lacquer is available on Etsy.

NYE Matching Manis!

I'm in a few facebook groups for nail polish and just recently saw a gorgeous ruffian style glitter mani done by Christine. I wanted to try it, so I asked her how to do it. She not only told me how but offered to do matching NYE manis!

I jumped at the chance and I'm so thankful she was willing to teach me! We used facebook messenger and it was so much fun!!
She suggested a gold glitter / purple combo so we checked our stash and found that we had a couple of Zoyas that were pretty similar. Today, the fun began! We messaged back and forth as we prepped with base coat, wrapping tips and then it went quiet while we did the base colors. Serious Business!

Pretty similar colors yeah? :D

Christine taught me to wrap the tips before ya paint! It works so much better that way! She also taught me how to dab on the glitter for the ruffian portion of the mani. We used Lynnderella Golden Rules and it is such a gorgeous holo bomb of glitter! It looks like jewels, so sparkly and pretty! Just lookatit!!

Christine's nails are so super perfectly shaped and her clean up skills -- MAD!! I say!
Christine has an instagram account at christinehk - go follow! She has gorgeous manis and a beautiful set of wheels!!

A lot of firsts were had here for me:
1. My first matching mani
2. My first time to do a mani real time online!
3. My first in the ruffian style!
4. My first friend in the fb group! :)

Thank you so much Christine!! :D I enjoyed every minute of it! These photos are for you. Thanks so much!
