My Ten Friends: Space Party and Star Bright

My Ten Friends (MTF) is one of my very favorite indie polish companies. What I love about their polishes is the chunky glitter, gradation of glitter, creative color palettes, and shimmer finish. I also really loved the retro looking bottles, but there's a new bottle in town! Yessiree!
All the brand new colors will be in the new round bottle, and since they have new labels you get a "friend" on each one!
The two polishes I'm sharing with you today are brand new to the line, and will be the first polishes released in the new bottles!

Space Party is said to be "so sparkly it will look like a party on your nails!"
And its the truth! Jam packed full of holographic silver glitter, purple glitter, red glitter - its the very first MTF polish made in a clear base! I wore one coat over Sinful Colors Candy Coated, which is a perwinkle cream.
I am told that this glitter topper can be opaque on its own with just a few coats, and I believe it!
Definitely a must have for your polish stash, cause - Ya just can't have a Space Party without it!

Star Bright was created in memory of another bright star, Talia Joy. She was an inspiration to many and will be missed but her legacy will live on in all of us!
The polish is a beautiful blued up mint, laden with teal and holographic silver stars, glitter and shimmer.
Effortless to apply and a stunner to wear! I wore two coats over Wet n Wild I Need a Refresh Mint.

And it glows in the dark!

20% of all proceeds from the sale of Star Bright will be donated to Base Camp for pediatric cancer research.
Wear this stunner and show off your nails for a good cause!

Both polishes will be available August 9th at Noon PDT at the My Ten Friends Etsy Shop. You can read more about the brand at Nailpolishtothestars.com and follow them on Facebook.

MeLissa Lacquer: Rebel With A Cause

[Part Two: see previous entry here]

Successful Woman really called to me when I opened up the package that Melissa sent to me. Its a beautiful hot orchid shade packed with micro shimmer. It applied like a jelly but was opaque in two coats and oh so shiny! Half of the profits from the sales of Successful Woman will be donated to Dress for Success, which promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire.

Melissa was inspired by a photo of Martin Richard's drawing for her Peace glitter topper. It includes glitter in the colors from his drawing: blue, yellow, black, hot pink and white in hex and square shapes. All the profit from the sales of this polish will be donated to the Richard Family Fund. I've worn two coats of Peace over black.

Hope has a milky white base with different sized pastel glitters and a few white hearts. Half of the proceeds from the sales of this polish will go to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. What an awesome cause to support! I chose to layer this polish over a white cream polish, but the listing for the polish says it is opaque in two to three coats. Since I was using a mini to swatch, I was not able to get the hearts out of the bottle.

Boston Strong was inspired by the slogan created after the tragedies at the Boston marathon. The proceeds for this polish will be donated to One Fund Boston who assists those affected. The polish contains a mix of blue, yellow and black matte glitter in hexes and squares. I wore two coats over Successful Woman for an added pop of color.

Each Me.Lissa Lacquer had a good formula, and I admire her inspiration and generosity of donating for each polish sold from this collection. Support your favorites and change the world! Available at the Me.Lissa Etsy shop and follow Melissa's brand on Facebook!

Soapbox Co. Exclusive from Urban Lacquer: Quantum Foam

I recently received an exclusive polish from Urban Lacquer to swatch and review for one of her vendors, The Soapbox Company. The press release is in the quotebox, and my thoughts after the photos. :)

Quantum Foam, a Soapbox Company exclusive, is an unworldly, soft green linear holo polish, which will make your tips glow! Full opacity is achieved in 2 coats, and looks fabulous alone, or with a glitter topper. Experience luminescent nails with this limited edition polish!

"Empty space—that is, space that contains nothing—no energy, no charge, no matter, nothing—is filled with a writhing, active population of virtual particles that physicists call “the quantum foam,” with bubbles appearing and popping in wild abandon. At the subatomic level, space is never truly empty." -- Don Lincoln, Quantum Foam, Virtual Particles, and Other Curiosities

A very pretty medium shade of green, Quantum Foam, sparkles like a glittery rainbow in the sun! The shade is cool leaning but then there's that warm rainbowy goodness - great for any skin tone! As with all Urban Lacquer polishes that I've used, this one was also super easy to apply. The holo particles in this polish are linear which means you can see a stripe or line of each color of the rainbow right on your nail! Now if only I could find that pot of gold at the end of it! Take a look!

These photos were taken under indoor lighting, which says a lot for the holo in this polish. If you've ever tried to see holo indoors, you know what I'm talking about. :)
In the sunlight (as mentioned above) it is more vibrant, but sunlit photos are not an option for me since I shoot in the evening after work.

Quantum Foam will be available only at The Soapbox Company beginning August 1 at 12:00pm.
