Glitzology: Baby Dragon and Skeleton Key

Glitzology is a fairly new polish company but its owner Stacy Boyd is not new to polish. Her creations are all unique and glittery! Some in clear base and some in a very shimmery base, like Diet Cokehead.

She sent two free polishes of my choosing to me for review, Baby Dragon and Skeleton Key.

Baby Dragon features fuchsia glitter, purple matte glitter, green hex glitter and lots and lots of fuchsia, green, and purple shreds. Its very sparkly and while it was easy to apply, I did use several layers of gelous before topcoating it. This is one coat worn on top of WnW Through The Grapevine.

Skeleton Key is a mix of white, black, and purple glitter, matte black square, diamonds, and bars, matte white squares and hexes, and lots of bright purple hexes, squares, and shreds. I chose to wear it over a light grey from f21. I really love the glitter mix in this one and the huge squares! I think the big squares make the polish really stand out.

Stacy has a sale running right now for $5 per full size bottle +shipping. It ends today, so get yours now!

Smitten With Purple

Today's feature is You're Turning Violet, Violet by Smitten Polish.

Jam packed with micro holo glitter and sapphire blue hexes in a dark purple jelly base. Two coats on its own and it's opaque, perfecto! It's super sparkly and glittery, especially in the sunshine.

See this polish underneath Enchanted Pumpkin Guts, it's a great combo!

Daring Digits: First Love

The first time I saw this glitter topper, I knew I had to have it. I finally ordered during one of the sales at Daring Digits. It was sent to me in about a week along with two other polishes that I ordered from her. The bottle of First Love was cracked in several places so I contacted Ashley and sent a photo. (The other two bottles were fine)

She quickly offered a replacement which I got in about a week. It too, was broken. Again, I took photos and sent them to Ashley to let her know it had broken as well.

Here's the two together, and the IA bottle that I was able to salvage some of it in.

She sent a third bottle to me, and it too was broken.

Each of these were packaged really well in bubble wrap and the box had loose strips of construction paper in it, which allowed the bottles to move around. All three boxes were in good condition, no dents or scuffs.
Neither of us could figure out what was causing the bottles to break like this, as the other two polishes from the first box, Spooky and Down By The Sea, were just fine.

Ashley offered a refund to me for First Love, but I was able to decant enough between the three bottles to get a whole usable bottle so I told her that I felt like she had done everything she could and to consider it resolved.

I don't usually post about things like this, but Ashley was wonderful throughout and I am also kind of curious if anyone else has had this happen with their bottle of First Love?

After all that, it was still worth the trouble and I'll tell you why after the next photo. :)

First love is a shimmery glitter topper filled with pink and white hearts. I used the dab method to apply, as it was very very thick. After it dried, I noticed it caused bubbles but I was able to cover most of them up!

I wore one coat of First Love over Love and Beauty's Lavender.

This mani has a special meaning, I wore it to my grandmother's funeral service. Purple was her favorite color, and hearts because I love her dearly. She's been a huge inspiration in my life and since she was a cosmetology instructor, she taught me a lot about nails and hair.
