Daveen Lacquer: Astral

I got Astral back in November 2020, when Daveen first launched. I was excited to get to wear it finally, (full-time career, part-time student, swatcher life!) and thought I'd share some pictures! Daveen polishes are handmade in Michigan by Felecia, and are 5 free. All of their polishes do not contain: toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, camphor, or formaldehyde resin.

I love the high contrast shimmer! It shifts from gold to green and the grapey base is so yummy. The polish seems to glow so much and is such a complex polish. I'm wearing two coats in the photos, topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat.



The formula was buttery and so easy to apply. I love the 15ml cube bottles, the holographic label, and the brush! I have spoken with Daveen's owner, Felecia, a few times and she is a delight to chat with!

Daveen Lacquer: Night Lights

I got Night Lights back in November 2020, when Daveen first launched. I was excited to get to wear it finally, (swatcher life!) and thought I'd share some pictures and my thoughts on the brand. Their polishes are handmade in Michigan by Felecia. The brand is inspired by and named after her late mother, Daveen.
Daveen polishes are 5 free, this means all of their polishes are free of the following five ingredients: toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, camphor, and formaldehyde resin.


I love the contrast between the magenta/gold flakes and the grapey base shade, and when the flakes shift it is magnificent! The flakes seem to glow and the edges show the grapey base shade. Such a beautifully complex polish. I'm wearing two coats in the photos, topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat.

Alter Ego Nothing Good Happens After Midnight
A deep midnight blue jelly, reminiscent of the sky after midnight where cauldrons are being stirred, cackling is heard with the recitation of wicked spells.

Super squishy and perfect for the fall season! The perfect polish for jelly sandwiching glitter or a stamping design in between! Shown is two coats with topcoat.






Alter Ego Spooky Soap
Made with a light fresh scent, not too floral. Suitable for a wide variety of noses!
Made with Cynthia's signature formula of unrefined shea butter, unrefined kokum butter, babassu oil, castor oil and enriched with Vitamin E oil. Each bar is at least 3.5 oz when cut. (cure time may reduce weight as moisture evaporates from each bar)

KBShimmer Light My Fire
Inspired by cool nights and bonfires, this polish will spark warm memories. The blackened base is filled with multichrome flakes that shift between orange, red, gold, and copper depending on the viewing angle. The magnetic pigment shows off a similar spectrum, with rusty oranges, golden yellows, and burning red tones. Use a magnet to show off the flakes and a fiery pop of flame-like color. The polish also has a scattering of micro holo flakes to add a little sparkle.

Shown with two coats, no topcoat. I used a bar magnet to get the diagonal line effect.






KBShimmer Apple Harvest sugar scrub
The fragrance begins with notes of apple and then gives way to a sugary, creamy caramel note accented by subtle traces of cinnamon and stewed pears. I totally get caramel apple when I sniff and then this sort of creaminess becomes more noticeable as I keep sniffing it. This is one of those that you'll close your eyes and smile when you smell it.

Beautifully vibrant blue shade and those pink shifting flakes show through so well! I love a good blue/pink combo and this one delivers.






Such spooky polishes! These brands have outdone themselves again!
Each polish is shown in two coats with glossy topcoat unless otherwise stated. Formula for each was good, as I typically find with indie polishes.
