Get ready for the February 6th Polish Pickup, where the theme is "Cute but Deadly!"

This month, makers are exploring the duality of things that look sweet but carry a sting, from poisonous pits to sharp-clawed companions. I’m featuring a few standout items from KBShimmer and LynB Designs, including a fan-favorite scrub and some seriously shifty magnetics.

KBShimmer Cherry Almond Sugar Scrub - sweet, classic aroma of juicy maraschino cherries and sweet almond notes combine to create a luscious fragrance perfect for a Cherry Almond Scrub. Paired with a bold red color, this scrub’s scent gives a bit of brightness. This fan-favorite scent was previously available in January 2024. cap 250




KBShimmer Fear Me, If You Dare - magnetic nail polish featuring an emerald-to-teal-to-blue-to-purple shimmery base. A strong orange magnetic pull runs through it, flashing gold and red. When worn velvet-style, the polish takes on a wild, dramatic look, with multicolor shifts from the shimmery base and fiery magnetic pigment, almost like two sides facing off. no cap




LynB Designs Murder Mitts - deep cerulean blue base with ghostly green to blue shifting magnetic pull and added gold to green to blue shifting sparkle. no cap




All of my swatches are shown in two thick coats with topcoat and had no formula issues unless otherwise stated. All photography uses a neutral color temperature bulb with white bounce card. My nails are natural with no enhancements and no blurring/cream base, I have a fairly prominent VNL.

Little Box of Horrors: January 2026

If you are the type of person who believes Halloween should be a year round celebration, then Little Box of Horrors is exactly where you belong. This monthly collaborative shop brings together a variety of indie makers to create limited edition products inspired by horror, sci-fi, and all things supernatural.

The January shop is almost here, and it is the perfect place to find something spooky even in the middle of winter. Wishlisting opens on January 18th, giving you a few days to browse the site and plan your haul before the shop officially opens on the 22nd at 12 PM Pacific. Today I have a few stunning highlights to share from Victorian Varnish and LynB Designs that are sure to haunt your wishlist.

Just a reminder that the shop closes on the 30th. If you place multiple orders using the same email address, the shop will combine them for you. Orders of three or more will just have a small dollar handling fee per combined order.

When You’re Good to Mama - blackened plum to pale pink thermal base filled with red to purple shifting flakies and added cherry red holo glitters




Cadou Claws - Magnetic that shifts from gold/aqua/cyan/green/blue at extreme angles when magnetized reveals a beautiful vintage reddish brown base with a Victorian twist - micro red glitters make this polish pop! I used Captivate with this, keep scrolling to find out more about Captivate!




Captivate - Captivate was created to stop the bulk of adding more polish to re-activate and captivate or achieve the magnetic effect with magnetic polishes.

Apply on top of dry or nearly dry mangetic polish by using a very light swipe or "floating" technique, and then remagnetize easily in 30 to 60 seconds! The design will hold well when dry and then you can top coat as usual. You can also magnetize after top coat, but I didn't find the need to do that with this magnetic polish - keep in mind though that some more/fasterv particle spread than others.




Sanguis Virginis - A vampy blood red base gives way to a massive sparkle filled with different sizes of red glitters

• Wishlisting (Starts Jan 18): This is the best time to create your account and add your must-have items to your cart so you are ready to check out quickly.
• Shop Live (Jan 22 – Jan 30): The shop officially opens at 12 PM Pacific Time on the 22nd and remains open through the 30th.
• Shipping (Starts Feb 18): Because this is a pre-order style shop, shipping begins on the 18th of the month following the sale.

Combined Shipping Policy

One of the great features of this shop is the ability to combine orders. If you place your initial order and later realize you missed something, you can go back for more.

Welcome back to the blog! Today I have a stunning selection of swatches to share, featuring several different indie brands available right now through Hella Handmade Creations (HHC). If you aren't familiar with HHC, it’s a monthly shopping event where indie makers create unique products inspired by a theme of their choice.

The shop is currently open and stays live through January 21, so you have plenty of time to grab these beauties along with hundreds of other polishes, top coats, and other products from a variety of makers. It is truly a "one-stop shop" for indie lovers! In this month's lineup, I’m sharing some incredible finishes, from the glowing depth of Victorian Varnish to the flakie-filled goodness of Hula Moon. Living Work of Art - has a deep blue jelly base with an intense green/aqua/blue aurora shimmer with silver reflective glitters.




Mountain Tea Lavish Hand and Cuticle Cream - Brisk bergamot and mandarin pour over green tea for an alpine rush. A crystalline heart of jasmine and rose with black currant settles into clean musk and sandalwood brushed with moss.

Suede & Smoke - A spark of ginger zest opens the scent, sharp, clean, and quietly daring. The base smolders with smoked cedar, guaiacwood, and earthy patchouli, leaving behind a scent trail that’s deep, smoky, and undeniably refined.
